Do I really need to change my engine oil?

All lubricants, from anti-freeze to motor oil, have a certain life expectancy before they lose their chemical purpose that they were manufactured to have. Friction is produced once a fluid loses its viscocity, thus creating premature failure of any component that the lubricant is designed to assist.
Engine oil, if neglected, turns into sludge. Sludge build up can restrict flow throughout tiny passages in the oiling system in certain components that can wreak havoc and could potentially destroy the engine.
Oil changes are cheap in comparison to unwanted and expensive internal mechanical engine failure.
Preventive maintenance is key!!
